Zenyum launches ZenyumSonic, a new electric toothbrush for a deeper clean

21 October 2020

Singapore based smile cosmetics company, Zenyum has launched its latest dental care innovation, Zenyum Sonic.

Powered by sonic technology, the electric toothbrush offers consumers a comfortable and sensorial brushing experience, complete with a sleek monochromatic design.

Julian Artopé, CEO and Founder of Zenyum explained how the new launch is part of the company’s mission to make oral care more accessible across Southeast Asia. “We believe everyone deserves a radiant smile. Since 2018, we have collaborated with over 300 top dentists across the region to meet the needs of consumers with innovative smile cosmetics products including 3D-printed Invisible Braces and a medical-grade whitening product, Zenyum Bright.”

“Beyond whitening and aligners, we were always very aware that regular toothbrushing is vital for good oral health, so we wanted to create a sleek yet effective toothbrushing experience for users, but without the hefty price tag,” continued Artopé.

Combining style and performance for two minutes of effective brushing

Zenyum partnered closely with its network of regional dentists to develop Zenyum Sonic.

Beyond the aesthetic appeal of its modern minimalist design, Zenyum Sonic ensures the best clean in under two minutes.

Several key product features help to facilitate this:

  • Brush head, with perfectly angled soft DuPont bristles, produces micro pressure bubbles and mimics pressure waves to ensure they reach deep between teeth
  • 33,000 vibrations per minute, and removes 21% more plaque with a speed that is 10 times faster than the average electric brush
  • Three custom settings for a deeper clean
  • Two-minute built in timer prompts the user to stop, and to be brushing for the most optimal time
  • Four-week battery life and inductive wireless charging for portability and use during travel

Another important part of oral health is changing brush-heads regularly. Make no mistake – old splayed toothbrush bristles are unhygienic and can cause gum damage.

To help with that, Zenyum offers a Brush Head 3-Pack where customers receive new brush heads automatically so they can regularly switch out to a fresh brush head for more hygienic brushing, hassle free.

Dentists weigh in on electric toothbrushes

According to research conducted by Zenyum [1], 83 percent of Singaporeans currently use manual toothbrushesYet, the benefits of electric toothbrushes for oral health and hygiene have been proven and advocated by dental professionals.

This includes findings by the Oral Health Foundation and Journal of Clinical Periodontology which found that those who use an electric toothbrush experience 22 percent less gum recession and 18 percent less tooth decay compared to those who use a manual toothbrush.

Chief Executive of Oral Health Foundation, Dr Nigel Carter OBE says of the research, “Electric toothbrushes…are really effective at removing plaque. This helps keep tooth decay and gum disease at bay. As the science behind the advantages of electric toothbrushes is mounting, the decision whether to invest in one becomes much easier.”

Online preorders available for Zenyum Sonic, soon to hit retail stores

The Zenyum Sonic toothbrush is available in Singapore on the Zenyum website and Zenyum mobile application at a promotional launch price of SGD 39.90 [2] till 23 August 2020.

The electric toothbrush can also be found in Singapore at Guardian retail outlets [3], Guardian’s eCommerce store, as well as Lazada and Shopee from August 8.

To help families start a healthy habit of electric toothbrushing together, Zenyum is offering family bundles, where consumers get a Zenyum Sonic free on the purchase of three or more brushes.

“Looking ahead, we want to continually delight our customers in Southeast Asia through innovations that are not only effective but that are reliable and of the highest quality. We look forward to doing more within the region, expanding our footprint and more importantly, giving consumers across the region a reason to smile more,” concluded Artopé.
